Project: A Unique Country Estate Set Within 570,000 m² of Land
This offering is for a planned country estate with a building licence, to be developed on a 570,000 m² plot near the idyllic village of Orient in the west of the island, at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains. The property will offer approximately 720 m² of constructed space, with five bedrooms and six bathrooms.
Inspired by the island’s traditional architecture, the project envisages the careful restoration and reconstruction of Ca Na Ferrera, a historic Mallorcan estate dating back to the 18th century, nestled in the peaceful, fertile Orient valley.
The design reinstates the original arrangement of interconnected buildings with pitched roofs, reviving the character of the historic main house and the former caretaker’s residence. Spacious terraces and landscaped gardens frame uninterrupted views across the magnificent Orient valley.
The ground floor is arranged around an impressive entrance hall and a central staircase, which naturally connect the various living spaces. One wing houses an elegant, open-plan living and dining area overlooking the entrance courtyard, complemented by a fireplace facing the restored inner courtyard, where the estate’s original olive press has been carefully preserved. Ca Na Ferrera offers the perfect balance between the tranquillity of the Serra de Tramuntana and the comforts of a modern home. It is an exceptional natural setting in which to unwind, while Sóller, Deià and Palma remain within easy reach.
One of the most privileged locations in the Serra de Tramuntana. A setting of outstanding natural beauty, where tranquillity, privacy and nature come together to offer a truly unique lifestyle, surrounded by some of Mallorca’s most authentic landscapes.
Orient is one of Mallorca’s smallest and most picturesque mountain villages: a small cluster of stone houses and a church on a rise, nestled in a green valley in the Serra de Tramuntana. Its charm lies in the combination of the village, historic country estates, orchards, olive groves and mountain trails.
Orient belongs to the municipality of Bunyola, although it also has close ties to neighbouring Alaró. The village lies between Bunyola and Alaró. The surrounding landscape is defined by the Serra d’Alfàbia and the distinctive mountains near Alaró.
What you will find there:
•A tiny historic village centre with steep lanes.
•Old natural-stone houses, traditional roof tiles and rural architecture.
•An open valley surrounded by farmland.
•Starting points for walks and longer mountain hikes.
•A handful of restaurants and small hotels.
Orient appears in documents from the 13th and 14th centuries under the name “Aurient”. Its origins may date back to the Islamic period, although the official Tramuntana Consortium explicitly treats this as a hypothesis. The historic village centre is protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural (Asset of Cultural Interest), under the category of Conjunto Histórico (Historic Ensemble).
