CLUB NÁUTICO LA RAPITA

2In summer 1970, a group of holidaymakers in Sa Rápita, fans of water sports, decided to set up the “Club Náutico la Rapita”. From its beginnings the Club Náutico decided to build the Marina. Mr. Juan Crespí Payeras was the first chairman. The initial port work project was commissioned to Mr. Rafael Soler and, on 18th September 1973, the first stone was laid. The Mayor of Campos, Mr. Nicolás Piza Llado, presided over the act alongside the Club’s board of directors.

The administrative licence for the land set to house the marina was awarded by the authorities on 9th January 1976. The lead engineer at the site was Mr. Jorge López Vives, helped by his assistant, Mr. José Antonio Villalobos Guillén. Work on the social club began in 1977 based on the project designed by architects Hermanos García Ruiz.

The dedication and opening of the social club and bar restaurant took place on 12th April 1981. All the services the marina required to adapt to users’ requirements were then installed. The Ports and Coast Service approved the construction work inspection certificate for Sa Rapita Marina on 28th June 1990.
